These illustration's by Claire Hummel put realism into childhood heroes, Disney Princess'. What she does differently however is illustrates them in their accurate period costume's. This image, for example, is Pocahontas in what she would realistically be portrayed as if Disney had been correct in it's period study. The portraits also show the likes of Ariel, Cinderella and Jazmyn had they been designed accordingly to their correct period pieces. This design combines illustration with research which, personally, leads me to respect the design that much more knowing so much thought went into it's composition.
