Hip Hop Art

This art done by Julien Beneyton is amazing in its composition and the subject. Perhaps being bias to the subject as such a big hip hop fan he truly captures all these artists as best as they could be through art. Even the style reflects the subject; the style is rough and drippy but so tightly composed that it's realistic and appropriate.

The Boob-hat

I couldn't help but post this when I saw it just because it's one of those funny little ideas that someone had the guts to create and would be a hit if they were sold in random shops at the mall. Funny and effective - simply put, it's a hat that looks like a breast.

Stand and Sleep - by Ernesto Neto

Ernesto Neto was really thinking outside the box when he designed this bed. I'm not sure how comfortable it would be but from a picture it surprisingly doesn't look half bad. The bed is designed to hold your body in place while you rest so that there's no effort from standing and you're still getting a good nights sleep. I couldn't for the life of me find what he made it out of but it's something along the lines of memory foam that is easy to mold into and cups your body.

Mighty Macro

Here's another example of macro photography that I had to include. With the development of lenses that allow for a microscopic focus it's enabled us to learn so much more about the tiny creatures that roam our planet. These creatures being specifically insects it's weird that these pictures are able to give these creatures so much more of a presence - as opposed to just being an annoying housefly that lives to torment. The macro imagery gives us a real feel for how these insects are built and move and generally live and I feel that this is a very interesting scientific breakthrough that's only achievable through the art of photography.

Handy Art

This is a cool and new take on body art that I couldn't ignore. The time and imagination that goes into painting one of these pieces is awesome - and on a hand nonetheless! This is the kind of art that isn't meant to last and can only be caught through a camera after it's done, only to be washed off a short period of time after. The detail that's put into these pieces is so precise that it's hard to believe there's an artist out there with enough patience to do this kind of piece.

Underwater Creature

I had to post this simply because of the fascination with the most mysterious creatures the world has to offer. There's so little we know about aquatic creatures that live in the deep part of the ocean and whoever investigates them has the potential to make new discoveries every time. The organisms that occupy the bottom of the ocean are biologically confusing and visually appealing - most of the time.

The EYE

This is one of the coolest imagery I've ever come across. I have recently gained a new love for macro photography and this is one example that's just mind blowing. To this that this is what the eye actually looks like is something noone would really consider investigating, but thankfully there's a photographer out there that saw the eye through a different lens. The eye is a very strange part of the body and this just adds to my interest. Who knew the eye up close looks like some sort of texture taken straight from a moon landing site?!

World's Coolest Mice!

What is there to say about this? These computer mice and just cool ideas and excellent design. I posted my personal favourite, the mouse that reflects an old Super Nintendo controller. The smartest thing about these designs is that not only are they awesome ideas but they basically market themselves. It's this kind of design that people can't help but buy just because of the way it looks and the comments you'll get from it.

Controversy Tower

This tower to be built in Korea has been the subject of some definite controversy for obvious reasons. The tower seems to reflect the World Trade Center after the terrorist attack on 9/11, however, it is meant to depict a tower rising above the clouds. Personally I think this piece of architecture is innovative and lovely in its design. It's understandable that some people could be sensitive about it but I feel people should think past the superstition that the world is a terrible and vengeful place filled with sick architects and move on to appreciate new ideas.

Andreas Preis

The art of German artist Andreas Preis is beautiful and inspirational to me personally. It's the way his characters and the way he shades his pieces that I can relate to. His style focuses on portraits that are designed with a very rough illustration technique that just seems to work so well with the people he chooses to depict.
